Grex / Plant Information

Physical Traits

The leaves of N. veitchii "variegated (k)" are variegated, sometimes being predominantly cream white with a speckling of green. Under intense light the leaves acquire a red blush, leading to a tri-color appearance. Due to the high degree of variegation not contributing to active photosynthesis, the plant grows very slowly.

The pitchers have red striped peristomes that darken with age.

The plant is male.

Growing Conditions

History in Cultivation

Originally from Carnivero, it has been used in some crosses:

Nepenthes veitchii Thai Bareo Giant x variegated (k)

Nepenthes veitchii JB x variegated (k)

So far there has been no indication that the variegated trait can be passed down to the offspring.
